How do I add an additional multifactor authentication method?

Gwinnett Technical College has implemented additional security on all student email accounts. This is called Multifactor Authentication.

You can verify your ID with a text message, a voice call, or the OKTA verify app. You can download the OKTA verify app on your Android or iPhone mobile device.

We recommend setting up multiple authentication factors so that you do not lose access to your account.

.

Log in to your account

To add an additional authentication factor:

  1. Log in to the student dashboard page https://gwinnetttech.edu/dashboard/
  2. Click on your name on the upper right-hand side of the page
  3. Then click settings.

.

You will be prompted to reenter your password and verify with your current multifactor authentication method.

.

Security Methods

You can then scroll down to Security Methods.

The Security Methods section should have your current methods listed. Click on the Set up box next to the additional authentication factor you would like to add. Click Remove if you would like to reset a method.

If this is your first time using the settings menu, and the Security Methods section is blank with no options to make changes you will need to sign out and sign back in again. The security methods section should then be accessible as described above.
