OKTA has discontinued MFA verification using text messages. Gwinnett Tech will implement this change June 9th, 2 weeks into the Summer 2025 semester, in favor of the OKTA verify app. The Okta Verify app is faster and more secure.

Gwinnett Technical College has implemented additional security on all employee email accounts. This is called Multifactor Authentication.

OKTA has let us know that MFA verification using text messages will be going away soon in favor of the OKTA verify app. We recommend everyone switch to OKTA verify as their MFA method now.

OKTA Verify is available on iOS or Android devices including a phone, tablet, or iPad. OKTA Verify will work on devices with or without phone service, you only need Wi-Fi. The app can be setup on more than one device.
