Downloading the files from the the CMTT2130 folder to your computer.

  1. Run the Office Deployment tool in the CMTT2130 folder
  2. Follow the instructions in this document Load Project with Compatibility Message.docx to install the software
  3. Create a new folder at c:\ProjectInstall and load all the files from the CMTT2130 folder there.
  4. Then follow the instructions on this document Load Project with Compatibility Message.docx

We have cut and pasted the text from that document below:

How to load project 2016 when you get the “Compatibility with Office 365” issue (this will also work for 2021)

  1. Download the latest version of the Office Deployment Tool from Microsoft at this URL https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49117
  2. When it finishes downloading click on the .exe file. It will ask if you want to allow it to make changes to your computer. Click the ‘Yes’ button
  3. Next it will ask you to agree to the license agreement. Click in the checkbox to agree and press the “Continue” button.
  4. It will ask you to choose a location to store the extracted files. I like to create a new folder at c:\ProjectInstall
  5. Now copy the attached Project2016Configuration file to the same location as you extracted the files.
  6. Open a command prompt with administrative privileges. In the “Type here to search” box in the lower left of the task bar type ‘Command’ . You will see a Command Prompt App. Right click on it and choose ‘Run as administrator’ from the context menu. Type in ‘cd\projectinstall’ and hit enter.
  7. Then type in ‘setup.exe /configure Project2016Configuration.xml’ and hit enter.
  8. It will start the installation process. It will want to close any office apps you have open so save your work first, then close them.

Complete instructions with illustrations can be found in the document.
