Microsoft Office 365 is free for all Gwinnett Tech students
Microsoft Office 365 is free for all Gwinnett Tech students through the Office 365 Education for free program. The first time you start Office 365 it is important to login with your Gwinnett Tech student email account so it is registered as part of the Office 365 Education for free program.

Which email is signed in?
After installing a copy of Microsoft Office 365 Windows may sometimes automatically log you in with your personal email address rather than your Gwinnett Tech student email account. Check to see if this has happened.
If you are signed in with another email besides your Gwinnett Tech student email account you may run into a license error. This can mean Office 365 won't work or sometimes Microsoft will ask you to sign up for the Office 365 subscription.
Sign in with your Gwinnett Tech student email account
To get past this Office 365 license error, sign out of your personal email address and sign in with your Gwinnett Tech student email account.
- In any Office app, go to File > Account > Sign out.
- Close all Office apps
The next time you open an Office 365 app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), sign in with your Gwinnett Tech student email account and it should work properly without the error.

Sign all account out of Office 365
Sometimes, even if you have signed into Office 365 properly with your Gwinnett Tech student email you may still get this license error. Usually all you need to do to get past this error is sign out of all accounts on Office 365 and sign back in with your Gwinnett Tech student email again.
- In any Office app, go to File > Account > Sign out.
- Close all Office apps.
The next time you open an Office 365 app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc), sign in with your Gwinnett Tech student email account and it should work properly without the error.
